The old school pushrod design engine was met with a bit of a blah from the automotive world in a territory being swamped with overhead cam this and variable timing that. But many years later it has proven itself not only as a efficient but very reliable powerplant to be tucked away in the majority of GM's primary lineup. From trucks to the new corvette the ls series engines produce huge horsepower with very modest fuel consumption. All that and it has also breathed new life into the hot rod market with numerous applications being utilized to swap into everything from old T-buckets to Jeep wrangler.
