Description

2010-2014 Chevrolet GMC 5.3L LMF V8. No D.O.D., With V.V.T.. VIN Code 4. This engine was found in the 09-14 Chevy & Gmc express 1500 vans Only

Engine fitment can be verified with the notes and ‘Vehicle Fitment’ tab above, or with the casting numbers under ‘Additional Information’ (if applicable), or by calling toll-free 888-842-0023.

Every engine we sell is fully remanufactured to meet or exceed OEM specifications:

  • Deep Clean – To start the remanufacturing process, every engine is fully disassembled and hot tanked (cast iron) or thermally cleaned (aluminum)
  • Inspection – Magnaflux testing uses magnetic particles to inspect metal, checking for microscopic cracks and fissures that will cause long-term failure. All parts are visually inspected as well.
  • Machining and New Parts – Deck surfaces are CNC machined and new parts are added. New parts inlcude bearings, pistons, rings, lifters, oil pump, gaskets, Viton™ valve seals, freeze plugs, galley plugs and either a new timing chain (with new tensioners) or a new timing belt (with new tensioner). If an engine has a timing-driven water pump, a new pump is installed.
  • SIM Testing – Each engine is SIM tested after reassembly, with the cooling and oil systems being fully pressurized and the crank being spun at high RPM to verify compression and build quality.

Because of our rigorous remanufacturing process, we can offer the industry’s best warranties. Each engine comes with up to 7 years and 1 million miles of warranty, which can be upgraded to include Pure Care™ no-fault protection. No other engine manufacturer comes close.

Cylinder Head Sealing for Heavy Loads

Factory gaskets are upgraded to premium multi-layer steel (MLS) LS head gaskets designed to withstand increased cylinder pressures and temps. Every cylinder head we install is 100% pressure-tested to detect known micro-cracks and sealing issues.

Eliminating Piston Issues and Oil Consumption

Demanding driving and heavy loads can lead to blow-by and oil consumption due to factory ring tension. We fix this by:

      • Boring the cylinders and installing size-updated, PTFE-coated pistons that expand less under heat, allowing tighter piston-to-bore clearances while preventing scuffing.
      • Utilizing hypereutectic pistons for tighter ring land spacing and following strict in-process piston circlip validation procedures.

      Durable, Long-Life Valvetrain Upgrades

The rugged LMF needs a robust valvetrain. To combat excessive friction and exhaust valve seat wear from heavy-duty use, we install premium chromed valves and precision-machined valve seats to ensure a perfectly matched seal, minimal runout, and longer lifespan.

      Fully Sealed Crankcase Assembly

      • The crankcase assembly is 100% leak-tested to ensure a perfectly tight rear main seal and oil pan.
      • Engines arrive with the oil pan, timing cover, and rear cover expertly pre-installed, which is particularly helpful given that the pan, timing cover, and rear cover require special alignment tooling.

Improved Cam Alignment and Oil Pressure

We perform 100% camshaft bearing boring, perfecting cam journal alignment and tightening journal-to-bearing clearances. LMF engines receive an updated oil pump that delivers improved flow and a more steady pressure curve.

      Expert Assembly and SIM Testing

Our remanufactured 5.3L LMF engines are assembled using a state-of-the-art Manufacturing Execution System (MES) that continuously monitors and records all torque specs and in-process inspections. Each engine is 100% SIM-tested to verify correct compression, oil pressure and flow, and torque-to-turn operation.

      Upgraded VVT Components

The iron-block LMF utilizes Variable Valve Timing (VVT) for low-end hauling power, but factory phasers commonly suffer from wear and oil pressure loss over time. We install updated VVT components to restore precise cam timing and reliable performance.

HERE'S WHY OUR ENGINES LEAD THE INDUSTRY

      Machining and New Parts

Precision CNC machining of deck mating surfaces ensure a perfect fit for long-lasting engine performance. Major parts replaced new including but not limited to: bearings, pistons, rings, lifters, oil pump gaskets, freeze plugs, galley plugs, and either new timing chain or belt (with new tensioners).

      Magnetic Particle Inspection

Magnaflux testing identifies microscopic cracks or fissures in ferrous components, while a visual inspection of non-ferrous components finds obvious failures.

      Disassembly and Hot Tank/Thermal Cleaning

Disassembled components are hot tanked (if iron) or thermally cleaned (if aluminium)until all deposits are removed. All intake and exhaust surfaces are cleaned an buffed.

      SIM Testing

The reassembled engine is tested for compression. For variable valve timing engines the phasers are run through a full test cycle to measure proper engagement and timing adjustment. Crank assembly is spun at 750 REM to verify quality.

      Leak Testing

Cooling and oil systems are fully pressurized to check for leaks.
